TRACKING AND CLEANING CHANGES IN MSI AND MST

Master Packager track changes by coloring cells and rows not only for MST file, but also if editing directly in MSI file. If there is too much changes in MSI file you can reset cell and row coloring by reopening the MSI file for using clean button in top right menu.

LOAD / SAVE BINARIES

Load and Save binaries in binary, icon and other tables. To make packaging process even faster make added ctrl+c and ctrl+v functionality to paste and copy files directly into binary cell or copy out and paste out of the MSI.

BUILD / EXTRACT CAB(S) FROM MEDIA TABLE

Building and extracting cab files can be done from the media table directly.

TABLE RELATIONSHIP TRACING

Table relations can be tracked easily using “Relationships” tab in bottom of the tool. Double click on the row and tool will move to that tables column.

ICE VALIDATION

ICE validation shows warnings or errors of your MSI. Microsofts darice.cub file is the default validation file, but you can set how many validation files you one and set your default ones. Shortcut for validation is F5. Ctrl + E will sort all warning and errors to oversee them.

ADVANCED VALUE LOOKUP

Advanced value lookup helps to find values easy and fast.

SORT MODIFIED CELLS TO THE TOP OF THE TABLE

Sort modified cells to the top of the table function helps to overview changes for example in MST file. This function works also directly in MSI if there are any changes. Ctrl + D short key will do the trick. Same can be done also from context menu.

VALIDATION WARNING / ERROR SORTING TO THE TOP OF THE TABLE

This is usefully when MSI have a lot of errors and warnings to sort them for easy review.

CLEAN DATABASE FUNCTION

Clean database function allow to remove built in cab files from the MSI in that case reduce MSI size.

CREATE / APPLY / REMOVE TRANSFORM

Create, apply and Remove Transform files.

REVERT CELL VALUE TO ORIGINAL

It is not only possible to see what was the original value using tool tip, but also revert it to the original value.

CASCADE DELETION

When deleting rows that have relations with other table rows Master Packager shows cascade deletion window to see what else will be deleted.

PASTE ROW(S) (OVERWRITE)

In Table editor under Property table, pasting rows with this feature will not create duplicates if row existed, but overwrite existing rows. Very useful when copying multiple rows from one MSI to another.

ADVANCED EDITOR

Advanced Editor makes editing simple and automates tasks by one click that otherwise directly in MSI tables would take multiple manual actions.
