The Serial Framework is a Software Development Kit (SDK) that simplifies serial port communication (COM, UART, RS232) for software developers on Windows and macOS platforms. Streamline your interaction with modems, barcode scanners, IoT devices, and other serial equipment with our robust and easy-to-use API. The Serial Framework is a part of the Wireless Communication Library but can be used as a standalone library.

On the Internet, you can find quite a lot of libraries for working with serial ports, both free and commercial. However, the Serial Framework offers a number of advantages over them. First, the Serial Framework is fully compatible with our other libraries: the Bluetooth and the Wi-Fi Framework. Second, the library provides a number of unique features that are not provided by other libraries. For example, COM ports and USB devices monitoring and enumerating. Providing full control over the serial port configuration makes it easy to connect any device to a computer via a COM port and allows your application to interact with it.

Additionally, the Serial Framework includes a full implementation of OBEX, which allows it to be used with many devices. The included implementation of OBEX Object Push (OPP) and OBEX File Transfer (FTP) clients, as well as an OBEX Object Push server, enables easy transfer of large amounts of data over a serial connection.
